Day 1 - London/Lima
Fly from London - Heathrow with British Airways to Miami then connect onto American Airlines to Lima. Arrive in the evening and transfer to the Miraflores Park Plaza.
Day 2 - Lima/Cusco
A flight crosses Peru’s western plains and climbs into the snow-capped Andes mountain range to Cusco. This afternoon is spent exploring the ruins and Inca villages in the Cusco area, as well as the city centre itself. Your base is the Orient Express Hotel Monasterio.
Day 3 - Urubamba Valley
Today travel overland to the Urubamba Valley, heartland of the Inca culture. A chance to visit the market at Chinchero, bright with the colours of woven fabrics, and the traditional village of Ollantaytambo.
Day 4 - Cusco/Machu Picchu
An early morning journey by rail reaches into the Andes to the lost city of Machu Picchu. Abandoned by the Incas, this great city was preserved from the Spanish colonists because they never found it: it was rediscovered in 1911 by a wandering American archaeologist. In the afternoon explore the ruins unhindered by other visitors, as you stay the night at the Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge closeby to the site.
Day 5 - Machu Picchu/Cusco
This morning stand amidst one of the wonders of the world as dawn lightens the sky. Return by rail and road to Cusco, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire, where many of the most impressive colonial churches were built on the foundations of Inca palaces and temples. Stay at the Hotel Monasterio.

Day 6 - Cusco
A full day at leisure to relax and enjoy being in Cusco.
Day 7 - Cusco/Quito
A flight takes you to Quito (via Lima), capital of Ecuador. From the airport you’ll be transferred to the Swissotel.
Day 8 - Quito
This morning take a tour of the city starting with a panoramic view of the Guapulo valley, modern Quito and then to the colonial area which dates from the 16th century.
Day 9 - Quito/Galapagos
A flight, via Guayaquil, takes you across the Pacific Ocean to the Galapagos Islands, where you will board Eclipse, your floating home for the next five nights. This 64 metre cruise ship carries just 48 passengers in 27 cabins. She has all the amenities of a large ship, with a swimming pool, observation deck, an air-renewal system and an infirmary with a doctor on board at all times. Cabins are comfortable and spacious and alfresco dining for all 48 passengers ensure that mealtimes are fresh and convivial.
Days 10-13 - Galapagos Cruising
There is a naturalist for every 12 guests, on hand to advise and inform. Snorkels are available on board to enable you to explore the fascinating underwater world, but most expeditions with your guide are by pangas - inflatable, rubber crafts with outboard motor. There are 13 islands and countless smaller islets, each with a character all of its own. Landmark sights include Pinnacle Rock on Bartolome Island, Punta Espinosa on Fernandina Island, Tower Island, Gardner Bay on Isabela and the Charles Darwin Research Station on Santa Cruz.
Day 14 - Galapagos Cruising/Quito
Cruise into Santa Cruz and catch your flight back to Quito. Stay at the Swissotel.
Day 15 - Quito/London
Fly from Quito to Miami with American Airlines connecting with your British Airways overnight flight to London Heathrow, arriving
Day 16.
