Southern Africa Safari III
ITINERARY
Day
1 - 2011
On arrival at Maun and after clearing
customs & immigration, you will be met
by a Adams & Butler representative who
will assist you with the arrangements of
your scheduled light aircraft transfer to
Duba Plains.
Accommodation based on 3 nights.

Duba Plains is perhaps the
Okavango Delta's most remote camp. The
camp is located in a private 30,000
hectare reserve in the furthermost reaches
of the Delta on an island, surrounded by
expansive seasonally flooded plains
(dependant on annual flood waters) and
shaded by tall ebony, fig and garcinia
trees. This pristine area is home to lion,
lechwe, elephant and huge herds of
Buffalo, as well as a large variety of
Okavango Delta bird life. Wattled cranes
and slaty egrets are some of the Okavango
specials to be found in the area. The camp
is small and intimate, with accommodation
limited to 6 comfortable tented rooms.
Each of the tents has an en-suite
bathroom, with hot and cold running water
and a verandah overlooking the floodplain.
The dining room and bar area is raised on
decks and there is a great pool with a
view. The camp focuses on the incredible
wildlife in the area through game drives,
which are conducted day and night in open
4 x 4 vehicles and motorboat excursions
are conducted when water levels allow.
Access is by aircraft only.
Included: All meals, daily
activities, laundry and drinks (excluding
premium import brands)
Day
4
- 2011
At a time to be advised by
the camp management, you will be
transferred from Duba Plains to the
appropriate airstrip for your scheduled
light aircraft transfer to Kwetsani Camp.
Accommodation based on 3 nights.

Kwetsani
Camp is a five-roomed luxury tented
camp located in a private reserve to the
west of Mombo and the Moremi Game Reserve.
The large elongated island is heavily
wooded with Palm, Mangosteen and Fig trees
and is one of the most remote camps in the
entire Okavango Delta. The camp is raised
on stilts beneath the shady canopy,
overlooking the expansive plains and the
main area comprises of a lounge, bar and
dining area. There is also a plunge pool.
The 5 spacious tented tree-house chalets
are each built under a thatch roof and all
have en-suite facilities including a
shower, separate flush toilet, basin and
outdoor shower. All the Okavango big
wildlife can be found here and there are
excellent chances of spotting the
predators. Activities include mokoroing,
walking on palm-fringed islands(to be
requested prior to travel) and game drives
during the day and night. Lion, leopard,
cheetah, wild dog, buffalo and elephant
are all found in this area, as well as
good concentrations of zebra, wildebeest,
giraffe, and all the plains animals.
Access into this area is only by aircraft
(dependant on the Okavango’s flood
levels, either Jao or Hunda airstrip is
used for access to this camp).
Included:
All meals, daily activities, laundry and
drinks (excluding premium import brands)
Day
7
- 2011
At
a time to be advised by the camp
management, you will be transferred from
Kwetsani Camp to the appropriate airstrip
for your scheduled light aircraft transfer
to Savuti Camp. Accommodation based on 3
nights.
Savuti Camp is situated in the
Linyanti Concession along the Savute
Channel in northern Botswana. The site of
the camp is about 17 kilometres
'downstream' from the Zibadianja Lagoon -
the source of the Channel. Between 1980
and 2008 the Channel stopped flowing and
became an unusual and productive ribbon of
grassland that served as a corridor and
feeding ground in the surrounding woodland
for a wide variety of herbivores. In 2008,
the Channel once more became a deep, clear
waterway harbouring hippo and aquatic life
with myriad varieties of waterbirds.
Savuti Camp is a comfortable camp
providing accommodation in 7 walk-in
tented rooms with en-suite facilities.
Each room is raised off the ground on
wooden decks. The camp has a thatched
dining area, bar and plunge pool, all on
raised wooden decks. There is also a curio
shop and a boma area. There is a waterhole
close to camp and in the dry season this
attracts large numbers of animals that
guests can view from the camp.
Activities include game drives in open 4x4
Land Rovers, canoeing (this is water level
permitting and subject to elephant
concentration),
hides, night drives and walks with
an armed guide. Wildlife in the area
includes all of Botswana's big animals and
is one of the best areas in the country to
see predators. There is also a good
concentration of plains game in the area.
Included: All meals, daily
activities, laundry and drinks (excluding
premium import brands)
