ITINERARY

Day 1 - 2011

On arrival at Maun Airport and after clearing customs & immigration, you will be met by a Adams & Butler representative who will assist you with the arrangements of your scheduled light aircraft transfer to Little Vumbura Camp. Accommodation based on 2 nights.

Little Vumbura Camp is a beautiful 6-roomed tented camp situated to the north of Mombo in a private reserve bordering the Moremi Game Reserve in the northern reaches of the Okavango Delta. Little Vumbura offers both water and land activities. Mokoros (dugout canoes) traverse the flood plains under the guidance of our experienced polers. Open 4x4 Land Rovers allow guests to get close to animals in the savannah areas. Guests usually have the opportunity to see Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Sable and Buffalo, along with all the plains animals, providing an excellent all-round wildlife experience in this remote corner of the Okavango. Walks (on request basis only) around the islands as well as night drives give guests the opportunity to enjoy Africa from a different perspective.

The 6 tented rooms are large and comfortably appointed and each have an en-suite bathroom with hot and cold running water, a shower and flush toilet. The camp has a plunge pool. Access into this area is only by aircraft and then guests are transferred by means of vehicle and then mokoro or boat to the camp from the airstrip.

Included: All meals, daily activities, laundry and drinks (excluding premium import brands)

Day 3 - 2011

At a time to be advised by the camp management, you will be transferred from Little Vumbura Camp to the appropriate airstrip for your scheduled light aircraft transfer to Chitabe Camp. Accommodation based on 3 nights.

Chitabe Camp is a luxurious 8-roomed, tented camp built on one of the most beautiful islands in the Okavango Delta, in a private area that is bordered on three sides by the Moremi Game Reserve. The camp is located in a diverse area incorporating mopane woodlands, acacia, floodplains and the perennial delta, all of which provide a variety of wildlife. Accommodation consists of eight spacious East African style tents that are built on elevated wooden decks, beneath the lush tree canopy. Each tented room has en-suite facilities with flush toilets, and a shower and basin with hot and cold running water. The thatched dining area, lounge and pub are also raised on decks overlooking the surrounding flood plains. A pool allows guests to cool off from the heat of the day. Activities consist of day and night game drives in open 4x4 vehicles accompanied by an experienced guide. Shorter nature walks are sometimes offered. Wildlife viewing is good, and includes Buffalo, Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Reedbuck, Lechwe, Impala, Zebra and Hippo. Wild dogs occur in the area. Night drives can be very rewarding with good sightings of the rarer nocturnal animals. Access into this area is only by aircraft.

Included: All meals, daily activities, laundry and drinks (excluding premium import brands)

Day 6 - 2011

At a time to be advised by the camp management, you will be transferred from Chitabe Camp to the appropriate airstrip for your scheduled light aircraft transfer to Mombo Camp. Accommodation based on 2 nights.

Mombo Camp is situated on Mombo Island, adjoining the northern tip of Chief’s Island, and is within the Moremi Game Reserve in northern Botswana. The camp offers abundant wonderful wildlife viewing, arguably, year round the best wildlife viewing in Botswana. The highlight here is the concentrations of plains animals and all the predators – including the big cats! Lion sightings are particularly good. Mombo is built under the shade of some large shady trees and overlooks a wonderful floodplain that teems with wildlife. The camp has 9 comfortably furnished, luxurious tents, raised off the ground. The guest’s rooms and the walkways that connect the rooms to the living area are up to 2m off the ground, allowing animals to wander freely through and under the camp – but at the same time allowing for guest safety. The canvas rooms are spacious and well appointed and have en-suite facilities under canvas and an additional outdoor shower for those who enjoy a shower under the stars. The dining room, pub and living area overlook the open plain in front of the camp and there is a plunge pool. Activities at Mombo include morning and afternoon game drives in open 4x4 vehicles. The wildlife viewing in the area is excellent and guests can see lion, leopard, large herds of buffalo, wild dog, elephant, rhino, hyaena, giraffe, wildebeest and zebra. Access into this area is only by aircraft.

Included: All meals, daily activities, laundry and drinks (excluding premium import brands)

Day 8 - 2011

At a time to be advised by the camp management, you will be transferred from Mombo Camp to the appropriate airstrip for your scheduled light aircraft transfer to Kings Pool Camp. Accommodation based on 2 nights.

Kings Pool Camp is located in a private reserve in the Linyanti / Savute Channel area in the northern part of Botswana, on the western boundary of Chobe National Park. The source of the Savute Channel is within this private reserve. The camp overlooks the oxbow-shaped Kings Pool Lagoon and the Linyanti River to the north. The area has a large wildlife resource with a wide variety of species, but it is most noted for its very large Elephant populations, which during our winter months can reach enormous densities. There are good populations of Impala, Lechwe, Kudu, Zebra, Giraffe, Sable, Waterbuck, Buffalo and the smaller plains antelope. The major predators such as Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Wild Dog and Hyena are regularly sighted. The reed and papyrus swamps are ideal for numerous and diverse species of birds and are a magnet for wildlife in the dry winter months.

Accommodation is in nine luxurious tented rooms under cool thatch overlooking the Hippo filled lagoon in front of the camp. Each of the bedrooms has its own large bedroom area, lounge, private plunge pool and sala. Each en-suite bathroom has a double shower, double hand basin vanity area and a separate flush toilet. There is also an outdoor shower for those who prefer to be closer to Africa. The main lounge, pub, curio shop and dining area are under thatch and there is a swimming pool built into the deck. The main area is linked to the bedrooms by a raised walkway. Activities include game drives in open 4x4 Land Rovers, night drives and guided walks.

Included: All meals, daily activities, laundry and drinks (excluding premium import brands)

Day 10 - 2011
