Highlights of Egypt with Jordan

Day 1 - London/Cairo

Arrive in Egypt’s capital city after your convenient bmi flight from London. Slumber in your tastefully appointed spacious room or suite, enhanced by a private balcony with panoramic views at the Semiramis InterContinental Hotel.

Day 2 - Cairo

This morning is at leisure but to make the most of your Cairo experience, optional excursions are available to see the marble sphinx at Memphis, the great stepped pyramid at Sakkara or medieval Cairo. This afternoon tour the fascinating Egyptian Antiquities Museum to see a vast array of antiquities including the some of the riches of Tutankhamun and the eerie Mummies Room.

Day 3 - Cairo

See the seventh wonder of the Ancient world, the breathtaking pyramids at Giza. View the famed Sphinx and the Solar Boat Museum showcasing two funeral barques. Enjoy an afternoon of relaxation or book an optional excursion.

Day 4 - Cairo/Luxor

This morning fly to Luxor to join the Nile Adventurer, spending the next four nights afloat. Visit the fabled tombs of the West Bank of Luxor including the Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens. A photostop at the Colossi of Memnon preceeds a delicious lunch. See the Temple of Luxor and at the Temple of Karnak walk down the ceremonial Avenue of Sphinxes following in the footsteps of the great Pharaohs.

Day 5 - Luxor/Esna

Take in the sights along the Nile and enjoy a leisurely day sailing to Esna with time for rest and relaxation.

Day 6 - Esna/Kom Ombo

Explore the Temple of ram-headed Khnum at Esna. Lunch will be served whilst cruising to Edfu and on arrival explore the large Temple of Horus at Edfu.

Day 7 - Kom Ombo/Aswan

Discover the great Temple of Sobek dedicated to the crocodile god. Continue upstream to Aswan to visit the classical sights of Aswan including the picturesque Temple of Philae on Agilika Island, the Unfinished Obelisk and the High Aswan Dam. Enjoy a pleasurable farewell gala dinner on board with oriental folkloric show.

Day 8 - Aswan/Cairo/Amman

After breakfast, enjoy a ride on a felucca before taking your flight to Cairo and an onward flight to home or continue your journey to biblical Jordan. Spend the night at the contemporary Four Seasons Hotel, Amman.

Day 9 - Amman/Petra

Set off in the footsteps of king’s along the ancient Kings’ Highway to Petra. Along the way visit the pilgrimage Byzantine Church of Mount Nebo and Madaba to see a unique map of the Holy Land. The last stop before arriving to Petra is at the spectacular hillside setting of the 12th century Crusader fortress at Kerak.

Day 10 - Petra

Wonder at the Rose Red city of Petra whose tombs, temples and monuments are hewn from solid mountain rock and take time to explore.

Day 11 - Petra/Amman

Returning to Amman for your final night, enjoy the sights of the city, the Citadel, the Roman Forum and the magnificant Roman amphitheatre.

Day 12 - Amman/London

With your journey complete depart with bmi to London-Heathrow.
