1 - London/Tripoli
After a comfortable with
British Airways to Tripoli, stay at the
lavishly designed Corinthia Bab Africa
Hotel.
Day 2 -
Tripoli/Benghazi
Your in depth journey
begins with the most beautiful
archaeological treasures of Libya at
Leptis Magna. See the wonderful mosaic
panels, statues and the imposing arch of
the Emperor Septimus Severus. Fly to
Benghazi, Libya’s second city.
Day 3 -
Benghazi/Apollonia
Drive to Tokara and
visit the ruins of the ramparts with its
four towers, entrance gates and museum.
Onwards to the coastal city of Ptolmais
with time to stroll round the private
palaces, two Roman theatres and the huge
Hellenic graveyard. Arrive to Apollonia
with time to relax before dinner.
Day 4 - Apollonia
Explore the significant
monuments at Cyrene. Known by the Greeks
as Apollonia, explore the ruins along the
narrow strip of coastline culminating at
the lone palm tree standing by the stage
of the Greek theatre.
Day 5 -
Apollonia/Benghazi
Survey the small site of
Qasr Libya showcasing one of the best
collections of Byzantine mosaics in Libya.
Drive to friendly Benghazi to visit the
market, Culture House and World War II
cemetery.
Day 6 -
Benghazi/Tripoli
Fly to back Tripoli and
drive west to Sabratha in time for lunch.
Discover the Roman ruins of Sabratha, a
World Heritage site presenting its unique
theatre and the Temples of Serapes,
Hercules and Isis.
Day 7 - Tripoli
Explore the white-washed
old city and souks of Tripoli. Enjoy lunch
with views overlooking the victory Arch of
Marcus Arelius and time to survey the
Ottoman Mosques and Red Castle Fortress.
Day 8 - Tripoli/London
After breakfast transfer
for your flight to London-Heathrow.
