What
is happening in
Madagascar?
We
are excited and
relieved to advise
that tensions have
calmed drastically in
the capital of
Madagascar. We are
operating as usual,
and continue to take
bookings for
Madagascar travel.
The
tourism industry has
suffered a terrible
blow as a result of
the disagreements, and
as fellow Africans and
passionate fans of the
Red Island, we feel it
is our responsibility
to support Madagascar
in every way we can.

Upgrade
to Turtle Bay Camp -
Kalakajoro
Fishing
in Madagascar
has become a popular
holiday activity due
to the beautiful
conditions, variety of
fishing, and relative
closeness to South
Africa.

As
you may know, Jenman
Island Safaris owns a
fishing camp known as
Turtle Bay.
Located in the remote
Radamas Archipelago in
Madagascar, two hours
south-west of Nosy Be,
Turtle Bay Camp offers
guests the
quintessential
Robinson Crusoe
experience. With 5
chalets nestled
amongst coconut palms
just off the secluded
beach, you are
tantalisingly close to
the excitement of your
next catch. There are
five rustic 2 bed
wooden chalets which
offer a simple yet
comfortable nights
sleep, and our
fabulous Malagasy chef
cooks up wonderful
local cuisine.
Our
camp manager is
currently upgrading
the camp to include a
bar, a new generator
& refrigeration
system, additional
furniture, a solar
power system and a
reverse osmosis
filtration system for
the water supply! We
are also pleased to
advise that we will
now be running with
two boats: a 28ft Cape
Craft ski boat with 2
x 225hp outboards, and
a 16ft cat with 2 x
50hp outboards.
The
islands surrounding Turtle
Bay Camp are
mostly uninhabited,
with the waters
supporting virtually
untouched fish
populations. Water
conditions are
sheltered and calm
with no shore break
and extremely high
visibility. The
continental shelf lies
just 3km from the
camp, and drops from
10 to 100 meters,
running parallel along
the coast for 13km.
Here you will find
brilliantly clear
water teeming with
most of the local
pelagic game fish
species, including
sailfish, giant
trevally, dorado, king
mackerel, barracuda,
wahoo, large dog tooth
tuna, and more.
Priced
US$ 1085 / EUR 775
per person sharing, 7
nights accommodation
& all transfers.
(Price excludes
airport taxes).
Minimum booking of 4
pax applies.
