Dining at
Mardouw is an indulgent affair.
Breakfast is served to the sound of
an early chorus from the Redchested
Cuckoo on the patio. Aromas of
homemade pastries, breads and pasta
waft from the kitchen throughout the
day, and evening return’s are
invariably hastened at the prospect
of farm-fresh tapas on the veranda
at sunset. Dinner is a lingering
affair as the chef unveils one
culinary delight after another: and
do believe word that the home-made
olive ice cream is the pièce
de resistance!
Activities
centre both on and off of the
estate. Explore and discover the
wonders of the estate by golf car.
An on-site golf driving range (300m)
is there for guests’ use, whilst
four golf clubs in the immediate
area offer great challenges.
Mountain biking helps work off the
tasty snacks, the scented rose and
herb gardens are perfect for a
gentle stroll, and birdlife from
herons to sunbirds are evident
across the estate. Further afield,
fishing, a trip to the historic town
of Montagu, wine-tasting in the
Robertson and Bonnievale valleys and
mountain exploration are all
possible excursions.
