guests to transfer to Nanyuki to catch the
Safarilink flight en-route to Samburu from
Nairobi. It is a small difference in

a private charter lands at the Sasaab trip with
a 10 minute road transfer. Arrive at Sasaab mid
afternoon
3 NIGHTS: SASAAB

morning and afternoon game drives on open
vehicles where a wide variety of game can be
seen. Samburu is the home of the ‘Samburu
Special Five’, which includes the Beisa Oryx,
Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s Zebra, Gerenuk
& Somali Ostrich. Abundant birdlife and
fauna along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro offer
great game viewing either by foot, vehicle or on
a camel. For one night why not go fly camping
into the far reaching areas of the
conservancy? New for 2011 it promises to be
spectacular. All day game drives or half day
game drives can be arranged with a delicious
picnic to enjoy in the middle of the bush.
Sasaab’s position high on the banks of the
Ewaso Nyiro means that it is the perfect place
to sit and watch game. Elephants frequently come
to the opposite bank. Other activities to enjoy
include: guided walks, bird watching, star
gazing, swimming pool and the gem that is
SpaSaab overlooking the Ewaso Nyiro River to
work away stresses of everyday life. Sasaab is
very closely linked to the local Samburu tribes
and it is highly recommended to go on a cultural
trip to the local village to meet and understand
the welcoming and hard working Samburu way of
life.
DAY 7 Depart Sasaab early for a game
drive and bush breakfast en-route to Buffalo
Spring airstrip. Connect with the schedule
charter flights from Safarilink to the Masai
Mara.

met by a guide from Sala’s Camp and enjoy a
game drive through the Mara to Sala’s arriving
in time for lunch.
3 NIGHTS: SALA’S CAMP
DAY 8 Activities are entirely up to
guests themselves, but in this area of prolific
big five wildlife sighting, early game drives
are recommended to witness predators seeking out
their prey, and late afternoon drives when the
light is at its softest. During the world-famous
annual Migration of wildebeest which takes place
annually from July – September, guests may opt
for a full day game drive to a crossing point,
taking a picnic lunch with them. Sala’s
location on the confluence of the Sand and
Keekorok rivers mean that it is a true haven for
birdlife. Star gazing is outstanding in this
area of clear skies and no light pollution.

Sala’s Camp then take a 4x4 transfer for a
beautiful game drive through and out of the
Masai Mara, enjoying a picnic lunch on the way.

mountain bikes to follow the trails in the
conservancy, and offer exceptionally scenic
helicopter and hot air balloon safaris which
require pre booking and are at an additional
cost. Olarro is also the first destination in
Kenya to offer infrared night vision goggles
to observe the nocturnal habits of the
surrounding wildlife. Game drives are scheduled
for the morning and evening whilst bush walks
are also readily available and being home to

bird watchers paradise. For those who want to

perfect way to unwind with a carefully selected
range of therapies and treatments. Cultural
visits to the local Masai villages are
frequently arranged for guests to sample local
crafts, observe local rituals and learn about
the major conservation efforts that Olarro is
implementing with the help of their guests.

club where children can hike into the Loita
Hills with a fully qualified Masai guides,
learning essential bush survival techniques to
the delicious children’s food menu, they are
well catered for.
DAY 12 Although the check out is
officially 10h00 Olarro is flexible and accepts
late check-outs, as long as they are forewarned.
This is hugely advantageous for guests catching
later international flight connections from
Nairobi who can then connect with the late
afternoon Safarilink flight (4pm) from Siani
Springs to Nairobi Wilson. The transfer time
