DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1:
Arrive in Lusaka and connect with schedule charter flight to Jeki Airstrip in the Lower Zambezi. Chiawa team meet you at the airstrip followed by a road transfer Old Mondoro.

Overnight Old Mondoro for 4 nights.

OLD MONDORO - Situated downstream from Chiawa in a remote part of the National Park and constructed of canvas and natural materials, the camp has an open and more adventurous feel. Old Mondoro offers personalized service, and provides a comfortable retreat after a day filled with excitement in the bush. There are some excellent walking areas right out of camp, and more just a short drive away. It is unquestionably the best walking area in the Lower Zambezi and as such the emphasis is on walking. Accommodating only 8 guests in the 4 chalets of traditional design, Old Mondoro is somewhat reminiscent of the mobile camps of East Africa, rebuilt from scratch and then dismantled each safari season. The entire experience is unpretentious and uncomplicated, but promises a unique safari that gives guests the best bush experience possible.

Days 2 to 4:
Old Mondoro offers walking safaris, game drives and water based activities in a remote area of the Lower Zambezi National Park. Wonderful game and excellent birdlife.

Day 5:
Transfer by road to Jeki Airstrip and connect with flight to Mfuwe (approx 1 hour). As Remote Africa operates their safaris in the remote game rich area north of the Nsefu Sector, we recommend clients do a short 15 minute charter flight to Lukuzi airstrip which is close to the base camp Tafika, otherwise it is a 2 hour road transfer. Overnight at Tafika. 7 nights with Remote Africa Safaris

Overnight at Tafika

Guides are highly respected, dedicated conservationists, with a special talent for sharing their love of the bush with others.Remote Africa Safaris encompasses Tafika Camp (South Luangwa), Chikoko Walking Trails (South Luangwa) and Mwaleshi Camp (North Luangwa).

Days 6:
Enjoy a wide variety of activities at Tafika – early morning micro light safaris over the Luangwa, for the energetic cycling safaris are offered, daily game drives and night drives with experienced guides, visits to the local village and school, walking safaris and much more. Overnight at Tafika.

Day 7 to 8:
Leave Tafika and head off into a true wilderness area for walking between Chikoko Tree Camp and Crocodile River Camp. Access to Chikoko Tree Camp is gained by fording the Luangwa in a banana boat, this is a wonderful walk from Tafika and takes approximately 3 hours. Stay 2 nights at Chikoko Tree Camp – beautiful rooms, built off the ground in the tree line, offer the perfect perch from which to watch wildlife passing through the open plains.

Overnight at Chikoko.

Day 9 to 10:
Leave Chikoko early morning and walk through this pristine part of the South Luangwa to Crocodile River Camp. This six bedded, full en suite, walking bushcamp overlooks a dambo "out in the middle of nowhere"! Crowned by huge ebony trees and surrounded by grassy plains, each chalet enjoys its own outlook. To get to Crocodile River Camp guests walk from Chikoko (approx 1 and a half hours direct walk). All luggage and supplies are portered into camp. Overnight at Crocodile.

Day 11:
