SHORT ITINERARY
Nairobi (1 nt) – Samburu (3 nts) – Masai Mara (3 nts)

Day 1 - Nairobi
Arrive in Nairobi and you will be transferred to the Norfolk Hotel. This classic colonial refuge in the heart of the city is the perfect base to explore Nairobi. Relax after your flight with a few drinks at one of Nairobi's favourite meeting-places: the Norfolk Hotel's Delamere Terrace.

Day 2 - Nairobi/Samburu
Fly north from Nairobi to the Samburu Game Reserve, where there's a game-viewing transfer to Samburu Intrepids. Here you'll be staying in walk-in tents, thatched against the heat of the day, set on decks overlooking the Uaso Nyiro River. After settling in and lunch, take your first game-drive to explore the arid habitats of Samburu, a haven for a number of unusual species such as reticulated giraffe and Grevy's zebra as well as desert-dwelling bird species.

Day 3 /4 - Samburu
Two full days free to take morning and evening game-drives. Plenty of the area's wildlife is attracted by the waters of the river just below your own tent, so even those who stay in camp can see a variety of game. Plenty of wildlife can be seen from the comfort of your own viewing deck, or the camp's own lounge area.

Day 5 - Samburu/Masai Mara
After breakfast transfer to the airstrip for the flight to the Masai Mara.
On the drive to Olonana, your home in the Mara, you should encounter plenty of game, but there's also time for an afternoon game-drive.

Days 6/7 - Masai Mara
Your personal steward will start your day early but gently, with a cup of tea or coffee. Each day's schedule is up to you: drive into the game reserve with a picnic lunch, or make the most of Olonana's position in a Conservation Area by setting out on foot, accompanied by a skilled ranger and an armed guide. The area's Maasai are partners in Olonana so you're sure of a welcome if you choose to visit the local manyatta to learn more about a pastoral way of life whose time seems to be passing. As night falls, relax over cut-glass comforts back at the lodge. Every night is a celebration, with guests and guides dining together, with the sounds of the bush the perfect accompaniment to gourmet dinners under the stars.

Day 8 - Masai Mara/Nairobi
There's time for a last morning game-drive before driving to the airstrip for the scheduled flight back to Nairobi. You will be able to have dinner in Nairobi before the late-night flight back to London or round off your safari with some time on the beach. Extend your holiday to the Indian Ocean coast of Kenya or the Seychelles - Call us for Details.
