African Safaris Tanzania

Day 1 - Nairobi/Tarangire
After a visit to the A & K safari lounge to freshen up, you will transfer to Wilson airport for your flight to Kilimanjaro. On arrival you will be driven to Tarangire (140Km 2.5 hours) and Swala Camp, a 'country house under canvas' overlooking the Gursi marshes, much favoured by elephant. The nine double tents are set on wooden decks with polished floors, have en suite facilities and secluded game-viewing verandahs. Relax before an afternoon game-drive through the wooded savannahs and the permanent waters of the Tarangire River.
Day 2 - Tarangire
The morning starts with an early cup of tea or coffee, before meeting a new African dawn. Game-drives here are by open-topped Land-Cruiser driven by a knowledgeable and experienced ranger. To maintain the country-house atmosphere, drinks, except champagne, are included here, and the entertaining and informative camp managers are always on hand with their experience in bushcraft and the art of hospitality.
Day 3 - Tarangire/Ngorongoro
There is time for a morning game-drive before flying to Lake Manyara, then driving, with lunch en route at Gibbs Farm, with the chance to explore a working Tanzanian plantation. Continue in the afternoon to A&K’s Mobile Tented Camp, spectacularly perched on the rim of this mighty caldera with sweeping views of the valley floor.
Day 4 - Ngorongoro
A full day here to explore the crater floor. There are plenty of chances to watch predators stalking grazing herds of game. Return to your camp, where the staff will have water heated for your piping hot bush shower and ice ready for your "gin and tonic".

Day 5 - Ngorongoro/Serengeti
This morning after breakfast head to Lake Manyara for your shared flight to the Serengeti. (Alternatively drive through the spectacular scenery of the Ngorongoro Highlands) To see for yourself the vastness and beauty of these plains is one of life's great experiences, home to great herds of zebra and wildebeest, your journey to Kusini Camp is also an ideal game-viewing opportunity. Once night has brought game activities to a close, drinks (included once more, except champagne) and dinner are shared with your hosts and the other guests. Accommodation is in luxury walk-in East African tents, set on individual wooden platforms with private views.
Days 6/7 - Serengeti
In the immediate area of the camp, short grass plains, rocky outcrops and tortilis woodland offer conditions to suit every type of animal, so the game-viewing experience is especially varied. The exact schedule is very much up to you: arrange a picnic lunch and stay out all day, or simply relax on your verandah.
Day 8 - Serengeti/Nairobi
Fly back to Arusha after breakfast, after an early lunch, connect with your flight to Nairobi, a day room will be booked for you at the Norfolk hotel.
