This wonderful folly on the shores of Lake Naivasha is set in a 600-acre private estate and comprises two separate buildings that each offer their own special charms. Hippo Point House is an elegant mansion dating back to the golden age of Kenya’s colonial era, while the 35-meter Tower is a fantasy building, dreamily set amongst the surrounding Acacia forest. Both are exquisitely furnished with antiques and fine local furniture. Fully staffed, the levels of service and hospitality remain unequalled. To stay here is to experience Upcountry Kenya living at its best. Hippo trample the estates flowerbeds, while the waters of Naivasha are thick with crocodile and countless wading birds. Land expeditions include game drives and walks and night game drives as well as expeditions into National Parks and reserves. Personal cares treatments such as yoga, massage, and beauty treatments can be arranged, but for many visitors the experience of relaxing in the Tower’s top-floor meditation suite provides the most vivid memories.

ACCOMMODATION

Hippo Point House: 6 double/twin bedrooms, maximum twelve guests. The Tower: three double/twin bedrooms, maximum six guests.

STAFF

Fully staffed, security , maids, a cook and a House Manager. Staff will prepare all meals for guests. Food and beverages will be purchased at cost and must paid for locally.

DISTANCES

From Nairobi, a 20 minute charter to Naivasha airstrip and 40 minutes drive, or 90 minutes driving all the way. There is an airstrip at Hippo Point that can take eight-seater light aircraft.
