INTRODUCTION
Amhuinnsuidhe Castle is somewhere very special and a place where comfort, relaxation and luxury are of the utmost importance. The castle is full of fine pictures, traditional antiques and decorated to a very high standard. The spacious grand hall, drawing room, panelled dining room, library, billiards room and sitting room all have spectacular views.
Built in 1867 for the Earl of Dunmore, this imposing Scottish Baronial-style castle is situated on the north west of the Isle of Harris. Amhuinnsuide Castle (pronounced 'Aven-suey) is the most westerly castle in Great Britian.
ACTIVITIES
There are numerous activities that guests can choose to take part in such as fishing, stalking and rough shooting. The Castle has its own boats which can be used for sea fishing and exploring neighbouring islands. Stornoway has an 18 hole golf course. Harris is a special place for wildlife and has the highest concentration of golden eages in the British Isles. If you are lucky you might also be able to spot otters, dolphins and whales.
