Sitting amidst 2000 acres of rolling Ayrshire countryside, Carnell House is an exquisite Towerhouse originally belonging to the Wallace family, of which many artefacts still remain in the house to this day. The present owners have lovingly restored this great house to provide superb 21st Century comforts and facilities whilst still retaining the historic atmosphere and charm of its 16th Century roots.
INTRODUCTION
Carnell House is an ideal venue for all types of private parties and conferences. There is an excellent and devoted full-time staff and whenever possible produce from the estate is used including lamb, beef, game and salmon, fresh fruit and vegetables from the garden. Fresh seafood is also available from the Ayr Market daily. Michael and his wife Deborah are superb hosts who understand fully the needs of their discerning guests and are only too delighted to either host events or leave guests entirely to themselves and the staff.
CORPORATE EVENTS
Any Corporate Event, whether it be a small meeting group of 4 to 6 people or a larger conference or specialist event, requires inspiration, facilities and an excellent location. Carnell can offer all these being so close to Glasgow Airport and having a wonderful capacity for providing good food and accommodation as well as 'break out' rooms and all the necessary paraphanalia that goes with such occasions.
HISTORY
Carnell is believed to date from the 16th Century when the first Towerhouse was built. Since then the house has been extensively modernised and extended so that it is now able to offer superbly comfortable and sophisticated accommodation to discerning guests.
The house is in the middle of some 2000 acres of undulating Ayrshire countryside with fertile pastures, rolling parkland and stunning forestry as well as formal gardens.
Originally belonging to the Wallace family the present owners entertain guests in their historic family home in the most hospitable of fashions and their chef uses only the finest and freshest ingredients including game, fish, lamb, beef and vegetables and herbs from the estate.
ACTIVITIES
Golf
Superbly placed for some of the major golf courses in Scotland with Turnberry 35 miles away, Royal Troon and Prestwick about 12 miles away and Loch Lomond no more than 50 miles.
Shooting
Carnell provides excellent driven pheasant days with bags of up to 300 during November reducing to 150 during January. Superbly laid out drives and hugely enjoyable and hospitable days with lunch in the house.
Off-Roading
Carnell has plenty of private roads and tracks which can be used for off-roading, quad biking and all kinds of specialised vehicle activities.
