INTRODUCTION
Easter Ross is amongst the driest districts in the United Kingdom, but its northern latitude can be chilly, so winter log fires burn in the Morning room and the cosy 'buffalo Room'. Vases of cut flowers from the garden add splashes of colour to the polished wood. Oil paintings, prints and memorabilia adorn the walls. In short, the ambience is that of a country house.
HISTORY
Glenmorangie bought the house in 1989 and used it exclusively for business purposes until 1998, when it decided to open its doors to a wider public. The Glenmorangie distillery is about 15 minutes drive from the house on the outskirts of Tain. The house is built adjacent to a ruined castle with a long and colourful history.
ACTIVITIES
The range of activities available from Glenmorangie House is extensive. Glenmorangie distillery is within a short drive and Royal Dornoch Golf club and other less testing courses are nearby. Salmon and trout fishing, game shooting and stalking, pony trekking and beach walks are all available. Historic homes, museums and ancient ruins are plentiful and there is a mass of stunning countryside for guests to roam and explore. This an area rich in heritage and scenic beauty.
