Innes House

Innes can offer a huge range of activities within a short distance of the estate and there are four 18 hole golf courses within a 6 mile radius. Clay pigeon or pheasant shooting can be arranged on the estate. Guests can also be taken on garden, castle, whisky, boating or shopping adventures.

HISTORY

Innes House was built by Sir Robert Innes between 1640 and 1653. It was then owned by the Earls of Fife from 1767 until the end of the nineteenth century, when it passed into the hands of the Tennant family to whom it still belongs; Mark and Hermione Tennant live there with their chiildren. The house was bought in 1910 by Mark's great grandfather, Francis Tennant, second son of Lord Glenconner and great grandson of Charles Tennnant, whose company developed bleach in Glasgow at the end of the eighteenth century and later formed part of ICI.
