Belvedere sits in a magnificent location on a rock face, high above the Dordogne River, with superb views overlooking the river and valley. The house has been totally renovated throughout and is comfortably furnished. On the ground floor there is a fully equipped kitchen, WC and a large living/dining room with a bar, open fireplace, satellite TV, hi-fi, DVD opening onto the panoramic terrace that runs the length of the house, with dining area and barbeque.
On a lower terrace is the swimming pool (11 x 5) served by a newly-built pool house with a summer kitchen. The bedrooms are all found on the first floor of the property. The master bedroom is en-suite, while a further double, twin and small double bedroom, large enough for one adult or two children, share a second bathroom and separate WC.
The village of Castlenaud, is nearby, as is Beynac Chateau, la Roque Gageac - one of the most beautiful riverside villages in France and the film-famous medieval village of Sarlat. There are four Michelin-starred restaurants within forty minutes drive. A full colour brochure is available on request.
OPINION
This property in the heart of the Dordogne has great views and would make an excellent base from which to explore the many local attractions. Given its elevated position, and the balustrades around the pool terrace, it is not a suitable property for very young children.
ACCOMMODATION
Two double bedrooms, one twin, one small double. Maximum seven guests.
STAFF
Maid service included eight hours a week.
DISTANCES
Castelnaud (nearest village with basic shopping, post office and restaurants) 5 mins drive, Beynac (chateau) 10 mins, Sarlat 20 mins, Bergerac airport 60 mins.
