Four 16th and 17th century cottages and the Main house sit snugly into the woodland, with well-tended lawns, fruit orchards, heavy with a variety of fruits, flower-covered walls and gardens. Foncaudiere is a truly unique experience. The hamlet has been lovingly restored to preserve the history of this former wine estate.
Just minutes from the lovely city of Bergerac, the estate is far from the crowds, yet close to the region's major sites and world-famous vineyards. You can wander through the orchards, explore the woods (truffle hunting takes place in the winter), pluck baskets of berries - or simply sit under open skies, sip a glass of wine and relax. Large covered terrace with panoramic views over the valley and is suitable for al fresco dining. In the Chateau, every room has an open and working historic fireplace; every cottage has at least one open fireplace some with wood burning stoves.
