L'ANCIENNE POSTE

L'Ancienne Poste (The Old Post House) is situated in a quiet corner of the village of Migron. Built in the 19th Century, it is a typical Charentaise country house on three floors and entered via the driveway to the front.

There is also a large garden to the rear where there is a lawned area with a great chestnut tree for shade and a swimming pool to cool down in. The interior of the house has been tastefully decorated and is used by the owners as their home. The large wood-panelled hall has two sets of double doors leading onto the ground floor rooms, one of which is the dining room with a solid oak refectory table to seat 12. The drawing room has a wonderful marble fireplace and a grand piano.

In the mornings you can walk to the boulangerie to buy your bread and rolls and there is also a small supermarket and sweet shop. Fresh mussels and oysters are sold in the market square on Saturday mornings.

The owners and their two children have shared use of the garden and pool, however, they realise that some visitors may wish privacy and are sympathetic to this.
