Located a stone’s throw from the quintessential Provençale village of Fontaine de Vaucluse, this magnificent maison de maitre, has its origins in the mid-16th century and was, at various times, a priory, a tuiliere and part of the estate of the infamous Marquis de Sade, who’s ancestral Chateau is located nearby. Now renovated to it full glory, the house exudes bold Provençal charm – from its cypress tree-lined driveway and grand forecourt to the landscaped grounds and labyrinth-like interior. Rooms are beautifully presented with a range of perfectly chosen furnishings and fabrics, with a relaxed Provençal warmth retained with beamed ceilings and terracotta tiled floors.

Living areas are comfortable and spacious and well-suited to a special family gathering or an informal group meeting. The ground floor drawing room, with fireplace and grand piano, is the perfect place for a post dinner digestif or maybe an out-of-season winter-warmer after a long walk through the partly-wooded grounds.

Bedrooms are located on the first and second floors and include a romantic four-poster bedroom and a spacious Master bedroom with sweeping views over the grounds to the Luberon mountain range.

Whilst classical in style, the property is well-equipped with modern facilities, including Wi-Fi internet, Satellite TV and air-conditioning in some rooms. On-site staff (housed in separate annexe) provide daily housekeeping, maintenance and local sight-seeing recommendations, with the provision of cooks, transfers, and touring options also available (with advance request).
