This pretty, recently restored property house is set in the small village of Maubec, in the Luberon area. While being a village house, it is hidden from view and has pleasant, secluded gardens. Access is through an electrically-controlled gate, leading to the swimming pool area and pool house, with a covered dining area and views over the Luberon Mountains, and a charming old porch and ancient wooden front door. The house itself is divided into two parts, with the main part centred around a large living/dining room, tastefully decorated with antique furnishings but also fitted with modern amenities such as satellite TV. There is also a fully-equipped kitchen, including dishwasher. Stairs lead up to two double bedrooms, both with en-suite shower rooms. The annex has a typical Provenal living room opening onto a terrace as well as three further double bedrooms, one en-suite on the ground floor which has independant access from the terrace and two upstairs, one en-suite and the other with a dressing room. There is also a separate shower room.

OPINION

With its village location and provenal furnishings, this house would be perfect for slowing down to the peaceful pace of rural Provence. Small children would need to be watched on some of the stairs which are open.
