A bergerie dating from the 17th century, le Mas du Marronnier has been completely restored. The main house includes a well-equipped family kitchen with dining table, as well as an elegantly decorated dining room and a sitting room with fireplace, but also a separate children’s playroom, bathroom and laundry. Stairs lead up to the master bedroom, a bathroom, and two children’s bedrooms, one twin/double and one with raised 'bunk'. A glazed living area links with the second building, with sliding glass doors that open on one side to a terrace with outdoor dining area, and on the other to the pool. The second, smaller house, contains a single bedroom and a double/twin bedroom with en-suite shower room and French doors on the ground floor, and a en-suite double bedroom upstairs. Equipment in the house includes three TV’s, VCR, DVD, CD and fax. The property is surrounded by well-maintained lawned gardens with shrubs, olive trees and lavender, as well as a 10m x 5m swimming pool, wooden sunloungers and a ping pong table.
The property is four kilometres out of Aix-en-Provence with a small local shop within walking distance selling a variety of produce.

OPINION

This imaginatively and beautifully restored property is ideal for families, with bunk rooms, play areas and bathrooms just for children. The staircases are quite steep, however, so very young children would have to be watched.

ACCOMMODATION

Two double bedrooms, two twin/double bedrooms, one single and a room with raised 'bunk'. Maximum six adult guests and five children.

STAFF

Obligatory Maid service 6 hours a week to be paid for locally.

Nearest shops a short walk, Puyricard 5 mins drive, Aix-en-Provence 10 mins, Venelles (two supermarkets) 10 mins.
