This delightful stone-built house with blue shutters is close to the centre of the popular village of Gordes, with its art galleries, boutiques, restaurants and weekly market. Set high against a cliff, the house is light and airy with white walls, terracotta tiled floors and contemporary furnishings.Entrance to the house is through a pretty garden with flowering plants, lavender bushes and olive trees, to a covered terrace with furnished dining area and exceptional views over the valley below. French doors open into the ground floor sitting/dining area, with satellite TV, with steps leading down to a lower sitting area with beamed ceilings, open working fireplace, single sofa-bed and telephone/fax. There is a small but well-equipped kitchen and utility room. Stairs lead up to the first floor, where there is a double bedroom, twin bedroom, a bathroom with separate bath and shower cubicle and a separate WC. The second double bedroom is in the adjacent guest house, which offers a four-poster bed, mini-fridge and kettle, en-suite shower room with double basin and WC. To one side of the house is the swimming pool, 10m x 4m, surrounded by a sun terrace. For winter lets, the house and guest house are fully centrally heated.

OPINION

A charming house with spectacular views over the Luberon valley and within strolling distance of Gordes. It would be ideal for a family and also a good option for honeymooners or anniversary couples seeking a romantic stay in the south of France.
