CHATEAU DU BIJOU

Built in the 17th century by the Mayor for his mistress, the Chateau du Bijou is a truly romantic home. Set on the western edge of the Rhone Valley with fabulous views over the entire valley of the Rhone to the Alps in the far distance, the Chateau du Bijou is one of the loveliest places you could choose for your holiday, wedding or conference. Superbly equipped with ten en suite bedrooms (plus another 11 in the cottages if required), the chateau also has the advantage of being within easy reach of the motorway (A7, J16), high speed train (Valence TGV)and international airports (Lyon, Grenoble, Nimes). Whilst being in the Ardeche, the Chateau is also close to the Drome and offers an extensive range of interests and activities from canoeing and caving (prehistoric paintings and wonderful stalactites) to wine tasting over 2000 wines in both north and south Rhone (Crozes-Hermitages to Chateauneuf du Pape). The weather pattern is provencal. While the chateau offers luxury on a grand scale, there are three cottages that can offer additional accommodation for the Chateau or can sleep 22 people between them in their own private location on the estate.
