Borgo Bernadini is a fine and richly decorated villa, set in peaceful grounds amongst the hills near Lucca, grand in style but not overwhelming. Food is taken seriously here, and it is the venue for cooking courses, and this is just the place to experience the glorious tastes of Italy. On the ground floor there is a formal dining room, a kitchen for casual dining, a drawing room with fireplace and satellite TV, a music room with fireplace, and a card and full-size billiard room, as well as a fully-equipped gym, an office with fax, internet access, central music system and security/surveillance system, and a sunlit sun lounge/reading room. There are twelve guest rooms, four of which can be either twins or doubles as required, five with hydromassage baths and all en-suite. Three are in the original stone chapel of the Bernadini estate, five are in the original horse-shoe shaped wild-boar hunting lodge dating back a thousand years, and four are set around the original 17th century fountains. Outside the expansive formal gardens, with many areas in which to relax under the shade, include a swimming pool. The villa is air-conditioned.

This historic and beautifully restored property offers a glamorous and unashamedly opulent setting with the space to accommodate large parties. With a focus on fine cuisine and a full-time staff it’s ideal for groups of friends travelling together.

STAFF

Three full-time staff provide breakfast daily and meal service for lunch or dinner. Chef available for lunch or dinner six days a week. Laundry, massage, babysitting, cooking courses by request.
