This villa is a 16th Century house, originally belonging to the Buonvisi family, and it is part of the Fattoria Mansi Bernardini estate. In recent years, restoration work has been done, transforming the comforts of the building but without detracting from the original character of the house. The ancient cotto floors, beamed ceilings and old fireplaces have all been preserved. The rooms are spacious and very light, tastefully furnished with antiques, and satellite TV,VCR and hi-fi system have been installed. There is a dining room, large living room and library/study, and a huge kitchen. There is one double en-suite bedroom on the ground floor, while a further three twin bedrooms and three double bedrooms all ensuite are on the first floor. The property also has a particularly large, flat garden on three sides of the villa, with several shaded areas. To the front of the villa there is the swimming pool (10m x 5m) with views over the plain of Lucca below. The maid also cooks local dishes on request. A tennis court is available on the estate, and the estate office has English speaking staff for local information and services.

OPINION

Spacious and informal, this country-estate restored property would be ideal for family holidays but also good for groups of friends.

4 double bedrooms and three twin bedrooms. Maximum 14 guests.

STAFF

Maid service is included in the price, four hours a day, five days per week for general cleaning and laundry. Extra cooking and cleaning on request.
