Damiano is a lovely farmhouse situated high on the hills between Lucca and the Versilian coast. The location of the property, surrounded by olive groves, is both tranquil and beautiful with magnificent views. Despite its private and quiet position, it is only 15 minutes drive to the centre of the historic town of Lucca and 25 minutes to the coast and beaches. The house has recently been tastefully restored, retaining the original beamed ceilings and using antique cotto floor tiles, updated with all the comforts of the modern age. On the ground floor there is a sitting room with fireplace, a dining room and a kitchen with an open fireplace and the original wood oven, opening onto a patio with outdoor table and chairs. There is also a twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom on this level. On a lower level is a further twin, with en-suite shower room. Accessed only from the garden, this is a good choice for those interested in a bit of privacy. On the first floor there is a master bedroom with four-poster bed and en-suite bathroom, a twin bedroom, a bathroom, and a double en-suite bedroom. Behind the house, on a higher level and wonderful views, is the 12m x 5m swimming pool.

OPINION

This is consistently one of our most popular properties, and it’s easy to see why. A lovely farmhouse, beautifully restored and with excellent facilities, and close to both beaches and the historic centre of Lucca it’s equally popular for families or groups of friends.

Lucca (motorway exit) 15 mins drive, San Martino in Freddana (shops/PO) 5 mins, tennis 5 mins.
