This beautiful original stone Florentine villa, built on the ruins of an ancient medieval tower, is a few kilometres from the ancient village of Malmantile and within easy range of Florence and at the heart of an estate producing olive oil and wine. The present owner has restored the ancient tower and converted it into a comfortable villa, furnishing it with antiques. The villa is reached by a 600m private drive that threads through vineyards and olive groves. The ground floor is simply and elegantly decorated, filled with light from arched windows, and comprises a kitchen, a living room and dining room with an open fireplace, and a sitting room. Vaulted ceilings with exposed timbers make each room individual and appealing. On this level there is also a twin en-suite bedroom and a double bedroom, with bathroom. On the first floor lies a sitting room and twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom shower only. Another twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom can be found on the second floor.

Outside there is a spacious dining terrace with lovely views of the countryside and villages nearby, a 12m x 6m swimming pool surrounded by a sun terrace with sunbeds, and a private tennis court.

OPINION

This atmospheric and attractive villa combines a charming rural setting with close proximity to Florence, with all its architectural and artistic treasures. One of our smaller Italian properties, this simply-presented villa, with its tennis court and swimming pool, would be ideal for one or two families travelling together.
