This very attractive villa was dates back to the second half of the 19th Century, and is set amongst rolling hills, vineyards and olive groves. The entrance hall opens to a sun terrace with dining table and chairs and two sitting rooms, one with satellite TV, a dining room opening onto a further dining terrace, and a large kitchen equipped with the latest appliances. The interiors of the house are charming with beamed ceilings, terracotta floors, comfortable, traditional furniture and antiques. The bedrooms are on the first floor, with three double bedrooms and two twins sharing two shower bathrooms and one bathroom with bath, all modern and recently installed. There is also a further Guest House that can be rented on request, with a further twin and double bedroom and its own kitchen and dining/living room. For winter lets, the house is fully centrally heated. The large grounds are well-maintained, with trees and flower beds as well as an 12m x 6m swimming pool, surrounded by a sun terrace and with a terrace with changing room and outdoor shower.

OPINION

Mid-way between Florence and Siena, and close to San Gimignano, Colle Val d’Elsa and Volterra, this is the ideal base to explore Chianti. Though none of the rooms are en-suite there are plenty of bathrooms to go round.

ACCOMMODATION

Three double bedrooms, two twins. Maximum ten guests. Further one double and one twin available in the Guest House on request.

STAFF

Maid service included two hours a day, five days a week. The owner lives on a separate apartment on the estate.

Greve in Chianti (shops, bank and PO) 5 mins drive, Ugolino (golf) 20 mins, Florence 30 mins, Florence (airport) 40 mins, Siena 40 mins.
