Villa Al Palazzaccio is a substantial, three-storey property situated in a wonderful position, high in the hills just ten minutes north west of Lucca, combining proximity to the town with peace and beauty of the surrounding countryside. From every vantage point, its guests can enjoy commanding views over the plains of Lucca. The spacious interiors have recently been tastefully re-decorated in pretty Tuscan colours, and furnished with Lucchese antiques. On the ground floor is the well-equipped kitchen, and a dining room with French doors to the garden. The living room, with a fireplace, has a door to an outdoor dining area covered by a grape arbour. The sitting room has a door to a covered loggia, furnished for dining outdoors. On the first floor there is a study, and a huge master bedroom with a private terrace and en-suite bathroom, and a single bedroom, with a separate pull-out bed, with en-suite shower room. Stairs lead up to the second floor, with a double and twin bedroom, each with en-suite shower rooms, and a twin and single, with a pull-out bed, that share a shower room.

Just steps away below the house, the 13m x 5m swimming pool is surrounded by olive trees. The caretakers live in an independent apartment at the back of the house.

OPINION

This villa combines the charm of rural Tuscany with being close to the town of Lucca.

ACCOMMODATION

Two doubles, two twins, two singles with extra bed. Maximum ten or twelve guests.

STAFF

Maid service is included, nine hours a week.

Lucca 10 mins drive, food shops 5 mins, motorway exit 15 mins, Florence 100 mins, Pisa 40 mins, tennis 10 mins, beaches 35 mins.
