Villa Michaela is a large early nineteenth century listed villa set in 50 acres of pine forests and olive groves in the hills south of Lucca. It has been painstakingly restored and modernised to an exceptionally high standard. Great care has been taken to restore the original frescoes and maintain the antique feeling of the house while at the same time making it extremely warm, comfortable and welcoming. There are 10 Double Bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, five reception rooms, a huge Tuscan demonstration kitchen (65' x 35') with La Cornue oven, and another smaller family kitchen/butler's pantry.
Attached to the house there is a still consecrated chapel attributed to Nottolini, the famous Lucchese church and aqueduct architect.
Many weddings, music and singing recitals have taken place here over the years. The accoustics are perfect! Introduction Situated thirty minutes drive from Pisa airport, thirty five minutes from Forte de Marmi on the Versillian coast and fifty minutes from the heart of Florence, Michaela offers a unique combination of easy international access, country atmosphere and proximity to the historical and cultural delights of the Renaissance. The beautiful mediaeval walled city of Lucca with its excellent shopping and restaurants is barely ten minutes drive from the villa.
Other notable attractions - Pistoia, Bagni di Lucca, Barga, the Gorfagnana, San Gimignano, Volterra, Carrara and the Cinque Terre are all within an hour and a half's drive of Vorno. Despite its excellent location and easy access Villa Michaela sits in quiet and expansive surroundings with unspoilt views of pine forests, olive groves and the Alpe Aquane. The picturesque village of Vorno affords wonderful walks and hikes and there is a bar, shop and excellent restaurant five minutes walk from the villa.
