Set on the coast in the outskirts of Positano, this villa is built into the side of a hill with glorious 180-degree views of the town, coastline and sea, with Capri in the distance. The interiors are spacious and cool with high vaulted ceilings and beautiful tiled floors in almost every room, furnished with a mixture of quality antiques and contemporary designs. Entrance to the villa is via steps and a pathway to a wrap-around terrace with sitting and dining areas shaded by lemon trees. On the ground floor are the master and two double bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms and two with private terraces. All the bedrooms have have air-conditioning. On the level below is a spacious living room with a piano and a second sitting room with satellite TV, CD and radio. The formal dining room also opens onto the terrace, as well as the kitchen, which is fully equipped with a separate service room and laundry. On this level there is also a double bedroom with dressing room and en-suite bath, and a further single bedroom with en-suite shower. There are also three lower terraces, one with lemon trees, a further terrace with ping pong table and fridge and barbeque, and the last with outdoor shower and sun beds, with a small deck and ladder into the sea, where water taxis may collect/drop off.
OPINION
A superbly elegant villa and probably one of the most impressive private homes in Positano. The many steps down to the sea, where guests can be collected from their own private dock, mean that it is not ideal for toddlers or the elderly.
ACCOMMODATION
Four double bedrooms, one single. Maximum nine guests.
STAFF
Full time cook. Maid service eight hours a day six days a week. Gardener.
