The spectacular Villa Ylang Ylang is located in Saba Bai, a deserted stretch of black sand beach, 15 minutes north from the popular resort town of Sanur. This beachfront property affords stunning views across the Badung Straits and sunrise over the distant Nusa Penida, one of Bali's smaller sister islands. An ultra modern and stylish villa, Ylang Ylang is spaciously set out around a large central swimming pool, surrounded by tall coconut trees and landscaped gardens dotted with modern sculpture which lead down to the deserted beach. Entrance is across lily ponds to the main living pavilion, with French windows opening onto the pool terrace. There is a modern kitchen and a study/library with day bed, TV, VCR, DVD and telescope, music and film library and book collection. The six bedrooms are divided between the villa’s north and south wings: each wing has a master bedroom with private plunge pool, a double bedroom and a twin, all en-suite, and all opening onto the pool terrace that surrounds the 15m x 15m infinity-edge swimming pool. On the ocean’s edge two further bales are ideal for relaxing in the shade or taking a daytime massage.


OPINION

This is an ideal location for those who crave refined comfort and secluded style on a wonderfully unspoiled stretch of Balinese beach. The black volcanic sand is not quite as pretty as its golden neighbours, but keeps the hordes away and is said to be highly medicinal.
