The 30 privately owned villa homes of Amanpuri range from two to six twin/double bedrooms, with private swimming pools, terraces and separate dining and living rooms. They are immaculately decorated with Thai furnishings, art and antiques. Although part of the hotel resort, the villas are set away from the main resort. Each villa has a fully fitted kitchen, but also a fully professional cook skilled in all aspects of Thai cuisine. Alternatively, guests can dine at the resort’s own Italian restaurant, the Terrace for breakfasts, lunches and fine Thai dining, or in season at one of the barbeques on the beach. Stone steps lead down to Amanpuri’s crescent beach, where the resort’s own fleet of 20 vessels are available for sailing, deep-sea fishing, diving and overnight charters. Villa guests have access to the 27m freshwater, swimming pool, where complimentary Thai tea is served each afternoon. Guests have use of six floodlit tennis courts, a gym and the first Aman Spa, with massage therapies and beauty treatments. If you can ever tear yourself away from this luxury, there are five golf courses and more than 50 Buddhist temples within 40 minutes drive.

OPINION

We think the 30 private villas of Amanpuri offer an ideal blend of villa privacy and renowned Aman service. As the flagship property, it exudes tranquility and elegance but yet is relaxed and well suited to groups of friends travelling together. The majority of the villas have ocean views and families love the warm waters and soft sands of the Andaman Sea.
