Set on Barbados’ fashionable St James coast, this enchanting property lies within a private beachfront estate of nearly two acres. Epitomising Caribbean luxury at its best, it was originally built in the 1940’s when tourism was new to the area.

Redesigned by Oliver Messel, Crystal Springs is today a villa of infinite style and distinction, overlooking lush gardens to the sparkling waters of the Caribbean Sea. The main house is entered through an imposing hall that leads to a sitting room a dining terrace, kitchen and staff quarters. A staircase rises up to the master bedroom and a further bedroom, while a third guest suite is off the dining room.

Further accommodation is found in the annex, set over a gully, with two bedroom suites and a gracious terrace ideal for dining or relaxing. Paths and stairways lead down to the villa’s secluded swimming cove and a large swimming pool. Nearby the Tea House Cottage has a guest bedroom, sitting area, kitchen facilities and a private garden terrace while the Pavilion has two guest bedrooms and a small gym. Facilities include a superb home cinema with surround sound. The use of 22 ft speedboat for waterskiing and boat tours and a sunfish sail boat is included.

This magnificent villa is the ultimate place for groups of families to enjoy holidays together, with varied, character accommodation and direct access to a secluded beach.

STAFF

Permanent staff, supervised by the villa manager, include butler, cook, two mains, laundress, gardener, night-watchman and boatman.
