Built in 1988, this grand two-storey plantation style home is set in 1 ? acres of beachfront gardens in the parish of St. Peter on the West Coast of Barbados.
The main house consists of a luxurious living area, with a grand piano amongst the furnishings as well as a tv, vcr and stereo. There is also a separate sitting room by the bar with a 43” TV and DVD. The master bedroom has twin beds and the other three bedrooms have king size beds, while a further four twin bedrooms are set in two “chattel house” style cottages set within the grounds. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities, are air-conditioned and open onto a balcony or veranda.
This is more than just a simple villa, as the grounds are full of pavillions and structures. Around the 10m x 5m swimming pool, The Pool Room is set with casual seating and there is a separate powder room and pool side bar. Amongst the lush tropical garden plants there is a shady gazebo for quiet days out of the sun, an aviary, the Coach House providing staff accommodation and a small office and conference room.
Down by the sea there is a beachfront garden gazebo as well as the Boathouse, which is equipped with an extensive range of water sports equipment including a 16 foot hobie sailboat, sunfish and a 20 foot speed boat equipped for water sports, with just oil and petrol to pay.
OPINION
Cool polished floors, glorious pillars, palatial proportions and Palladian style, the Great House is a tropical oasis in the heart of Barbados’ western coast, perfect for groups of discerning adults travelling together. With its direct beachfront access and excellent facilities, it is also ideal for families. Guests of all ages love the countless pavillions set amongst lush grounds, framing the breathtaking views across Mullins Bay.

Three double bedrooms and five twin bedrooms. Maximum sixteen guests.
STAFF
For full rentals the staff include a house manager, two butlers, cook and assistant cook, two maids, laundress and assistant, boatman, two night watchman. If the villa is only partially occupied, the staff may be reduced.
