This very private property is set in a large tropical garden with lawn, palm trees, flowers and vines on the French side of the island. To the front is a large sun terrace with swimming pool (10.5m x 5m), sun loungers and a beautiful gazebo with seating and views of the sea and Anguilla in the distance, while the building is flanked by glorious terraces with several outdoor eating areas and a barbeque.

Although newly furnished and decorated, the house has a colonial feel with high rafters and most rooms opening onto charming covered verandas at the front and back, rattan furniture and pots of palms and flowers. Amenities are fully up-to-date, with a TV, VCR, stereo, air-conditioning throughout and ceiling fans amongst the facilities.

The kitchen is finished in terracotta and white, with a central worktop opening on one side to the living room and to the other onto the terrace, and is fully equipped with a large fridge/freezer dispensing ice and water, an oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, blender and coffee machine.

The four double bedrooms all have king-size four-poster beds, and feature en-suite bathrooms. This stretch of Baie Rouge beach is especially quiet, with soft white sand and occasional boulders, lapped by the clear Caribbean waters.

OPINION

With its direct beach access and modern facilities, Belvedere would be a superb place to relax and unwind in the French West Indies.
