Elysium is located on the coast of Tortola with wonderful views. The house has been designed in Mediterranean style with white walls, terracotta tiled floors and ceiling fans in each room. The living area has a pull-out sofa bed, cable TV, vcr and stereo radio-cassette, and mahogany French doors opening to a veranda and sun terrace with magnificent sea views. There is a well-equipped kitchen and a bedroom with a queen-size bed and a further bedroom that can either be a twin or king-size, both with four-poster beds and an en-suite shower room with basin and wc.

Just off the sun terrace is the pool terrace (plunge pool, 2.7m x 4.5m), surrounded by a vine-clad loggia and with a small natural rock waterfall. The pretty tropical garden is filled with hibiscus, bougainvillea, birds of paradise and red ginger plants. The owners of Elysium live on the 1.5-acre estate and are available for advice when needed, but in no way interfere with guests’ privacy. A four wheel drive vehicle is recommended.

OPINION

We think this wonderful small property is perfect for escapists looking for total peace and seclusion. It is privately set with a quiet sandy beach three minutes drive away, ideal for swimming and snorkelling.

One double bedroom and one king-size or twin, pull-out bed in main living room. Maximum five guests.
